FBLA Hosts Successful Blood Drive

On Monday, January 8th Clinton High School held its second blood drive this school year for the Arkansas Blood Institute. Mrs. Johnson and her FBLA club did a great job organizing the blood drive for the nurses. Overall, it was very successful. Clinton High School exceeded their blood drive goal of 38 donors. By the end of the day, 42 students were willing to donate blood, but only 40 were successful. Two high school students completed the Apheresis Procedure or the Double Red Cell Procedure. 32 high school students completed the Whole Blood Procedure. Five high school students had incomplete donations, but these students were still able to donate some blood. Clinton High School successfully gave hope and will potentially save 100 lives in Arkansas!

The Arkansas Blood Institute was very excited to come to Clinton Schools. They congratulated us on achieving the second level of our High School Scholarship Program. Combining over 30 procedures from the October blood drive and the 39 procedures from Monday, Clinton High School qualified for $750 of scholarship money this school year! There are 2 blood drives remaining and the school is 78 procedures short of qualifying for $1750! If Clinton is able to receive 28 more blood donors the next time the Arkansas Blood Institute is here, then they can qualify for the next scholarship level. The last two blood drives will be March 7th and May 1st.
