Katlin Green, Writer

This year the United States of America will elect a new president. The candidates are Hillary Clinton (Democratic Party) and Donald Trump (Republican Party).

Hillary Clinton served as the 67th United States Secretary of State (from 2009-2013), the Junior  United States Senator for New York, First lady of the United States of America during Bill Clinton’s  presidency( 1993- 2001),and the first lady of Arkansas during his governorship. In 2015, Clinton announced she was running as the democratic candidate for the 2016 election. Some of her plans are a fair tax system, pass disability act (helps them get jobs, medical health, open more education opportunities, etc.), improve schools, fund money to organizations (like autism, HIV, and Alzheimer’s), and so much more.

Donald Trump is an American businessman, television producer (he starred in many movies and television shows), the chairman and president of The Trump organization, and the Republican party nominee for the 2016 United States Presidential election. Trump has many plans to improve our country like immigration improvements (make it harder to come in the United States and send illegal immigrants back where they came from), Tax law changes (ensure the rich will pay their fair share of taxes and reducing the cost of childcare), improve the economy (create 25 million jobs), change education in school systems (No more common core and improve school of choice in public schools), and so many more plans to improve our nation.

Tuesday, November 8, 2016 is the date for the final election and when we reveal our new President. Who do you think it will be?
