On Saturday, March 31, the community will gather to participate in the 6th annual Hunger Run. It is a 5K race. Every year, the participants can choose to either walk or run through the beautiful Ozark mountains residing in Van Buren County. The purpose of the Hunger Run is to raise awareness for the hungry and provide funds to support the local food banks, Food for Life and the Choctaw Food Bank. This event alone served 2,646 families in 2017, and the food banks continues to serve 400 families per week. This year’s Hunger Run will at 9:00 in the morning. Everyone should come out and support the community by participating in the Hunger Run.
