Golf Starts Strong

After a rainy first week, golf was finally played. The first week of school blues brought rain, and lots of it. In fact both of CJHS’ golf matches scheduled for last Tuesday and Wednesday were cancelled due to the inclement weather. This week told a different story though. With a sunny forecast ahead, Clinton started their match play with a bang. They took the course Monday at Morrilton led by senior standout Ty Johnson and ran away with the match. They did so by beating larger schools, Greenbrier and Morrilton. Tuesday Clinton hosted a match at Tannenbaum against opponents Vilonia, Greenbrier, and Concord. Sophomore Kragen Bradley played really well Tuesday when he shot 4 over par in route to another win. Thursday Clinton traveled to their home course of Mountain Ranch where the 3A state tournament is going to be held,  and they played 18 holes. Senior Bryce Dodd shot 10 over and led Clinton to their third straight win in a matter of 4 days. This Saturday the golf team will host a fundraiser, 4 man scramble tournament, at Mountain Ranch to help pay for their quest for a state title. All proceeds go to allowing them to host the state tournament. Contact Coach R.Cooper for more information, [email protected].
