Election 2020
The year 2020 has been filled with so many new and not so exciting things. From Covid-19, to schools closing down, students learning from home, and the new accessory of a facemask, 2020 hasn’t been the year of choice for most! However, several intriguing things have happened and will happen, that will also put 2020 in the history book for sure. The United States has a newly appointed Supreme Court Justice, Amy Coney Barrett, and we are in the midst of a presidential election year. Republican President Donald J. Trump is running against Democrat Joe Biden. President Donald J. Trump is the 45th president of the United States.
President Trump is considered a powerful businessman, and an American success story. He had never held a political office until he became president in 2016. Trump believes that immigration, economy, trade, and fracking are all important things that our country deals with. Trump believes that America will pull through the Coronavirus and a cure will soon be coming. “Keeping America Great,” is President Trump’s slogan for his 2020 campaign. He plans to, create millions of new jobs, end our reliance with China, cut description drug prices, lower healthcare insurance, provide school choice to every child in America, defend the police, end illegal immigration, and defend American values.
Joe Biden was the 47th Vice President of the United States for two terms while also serving as a Chairman or Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee for 16 years. His slogan is, “Restore The Soul of America,” and he plans to beat the coronavirus and create millions of good-paying jobs to build back a healthier economy that works for everyone. If he wins, Biden will take office amid a collision of American crises. Biden in response is calling for transformational change: massive new programs for clean energy and caregiving, a vastly expanded public option for health care, a multifront attack on the racial wealth gap. People are hoping he can help the economy and make American lives better.
As of 10 o’clock am on the morning after the election, former Vice President Biden has a 1.8% lead over President Trump…more results coming soon!
