Homecoming 2019

Homecoming is a joyous time of year. It’s a time full of girls in pretty dresses, dancing, and the love for our football boys. Our Clinton Yellowjackets played the Rose Bud Ramblers which ended with an epic win. The day was dreary and from the outside, it looked like a sad day, but on the inside of the Yellowjacket Arena, the cheers were high. Mrs. Barnard choreographed a skit full of Home Sweet Homecoming themed songs. From Country Roads to a C.A.M.P.F.I.R.E  Song, our school channeled our sense of home perfectly. By the end of the skit, the homecoming court and fellow students all joined in the “Git Up” dance, and it ended with everyone smiling from ear to ear. Afterwards, the maids battled the cold and paraded through town throwing candy to all the happy kids. Before the game started, the traditional walk out of the maids with their male role model on the field was moved to the arena. It was a memorable moment for the maid and their escort, one they’ll carry with them to the future. Although the homecoming weather wasn’t ideal, the school spirit and win from our football boys made the day a fun and happy time for Clinton High School.
