Football: CHS vs Melbourne Recap

Blake Burgess

The Yellowjackets are playing very well coming through week six. The Jackets have rushed for 908 yards this year, following 16 rushing touchdowns. The team’s playing style is different from the smashmouth rushing we have been accustomed to. They have transitioned to a smart, passing team while progressing through the season with the change of plans. All together, the Jackets have passed a total of 1039 yards following 5 touchdowns. Their playing style allows them to march down the field while passing putting the defence on their toes. This way makes it easier to score in the red zone resulting in most of their rushing touchdowns. The Jacket’s defense has played very well through the first 6 games as well, having made 237 total tackles along with 4 sacks.

Overall, it’s a great time to be a Yellowjacket. The team have been fun to watch and it is exciting to see what else they can prove throughout the rest of the remaining games.
