Lady Jacket Basketball Advances to Regionals

Brittany Shannon, Writer

The Clinton Lady Yellowjackets are headed to regionals! Last night they went up against the Yellville Panthers and wound up on top. It was honestly one of the most nail biting games the Lady Jackets have played this year. They started out with a 7-2 lead. Quickly, the Lady Panthers tied the game. At halftime, Yellville was leading by 6. Coming out of halftime, they upped their lead to 11. It could have ended up bad for the Lady Yellowjackets but they fought till the end. The Lady Jackets were behind from halftime up until late in the 4th period. They finally got the lead up to 3 with 7 seconds left to go. Yellville had a chance to tie but failed. The Lady Jackets are headed to Riverside for Regionals! Regionals wouldn’t have even been possible if it wasn’t for the large amount of free throws, Player of the Game, Allie Hensley, made in the stretch. The Lady Yellowjackets will be playing at 4 on Thursday in Mountain View against the reigning 3A state champions, the Valley Springs tigers. The game will be broadcasted on KHPQ 92.1. Come out and support the Lady Jackets and watch them fight to get to the district championship!
