Clinton Finishes Strong at District Golf

Aaron Hogue, Writer

Clinton has a deep tradition in golf advancing to the state tournament the last several years.  On September 18th the Clinton High School golf team traveled to Mountain Ranch in Fairfield Bay for the District Tournament.

The boys team consisting of Kyler Hensley, Kragen Bradley, and Ty Dodd. Kyler finished 4th overall and Kragen finished 5th overall and Ty had a clutch par on the last hole to send the Jackets in to a playoff to qualify for state with Cedar Ridge. The Jackets won the playoff clinching the playoff birth.  The Boys Golf Team finished Second in the District Tournament, advancing them to the state tournament.

In a field of 20 plus players, Lauren Wells, of the girls golf team, finished 2nd overall individual in the district tournament and advances to state.

Congratulations to all 4 CHS golfers for qualifying for the state golf match. The state tournament will be held at Burns Park in North Little Rock on October 2. There will be a practice on October 1st at the Burns Park Course. Good luck to the Jackets Golf team. Go Jackets!!!
