Lady Yellow Jacket Softball Advances to Regionals

This past weekend, the Clinton Lady Yellowjackets looked at the District tournament for their key to regionals. They played the Yellville Lady Panthers in the first round. The Lady Yellowjackets hit very well off of Yellville’s pitcher, while the Lady Panthers struggled to hit off of Tori Bradford. Bradford has been very successful this year, pitching 2 no hitters during the regular season. The Yellowjackets proceeded to win with a score of 14-0.

After the Lady Yellowjackets put an end to the Lady Panthers season, the Yellowjackets played a hard fought game against the Melbourn Lady Bearkatz. The Lady Bearkatz led early with 3 runs while the Yellowjackets had 0. The Yellowjackets came back to rally 2 runs late in the 7th, but the Lady Bearkatz got 3 outs before the Lady Jackets could get another run in. The Melbourne Lady Bearkatz proceeded to the District Championship to play against the Mountain View Lady Yellowjackets.

The Yellowjackets went back on Saturday to play in the 3rd place game of the District Tournament against the Valley Springs Lady Tigers. Tori Bradford pitched 4 innings with a 1 hitter, and the Lady Yellowjackets took advantage of the Lady TIgers’ errors. The Lady Yellowjackets won with a score of 13-2 after 5 innings of hard played softball.
