CHS Football Players Honored
Big time games, bring out big time players, and that’s just what happened Friday night in the small town rivalry game that was a hard fought win for the Jackets in Heber Springs. Clinton in particular had two players shine, one was Senior safety, Charleston Sowell. The Safety had two interceptions to go along with his 2 tackles. The second interception on the day, Charleston returned 83 yards and was run down just short of the goal line. His outstanding defensive efforts earned him the First Arkansas Bank and Trust player of the game award. The other star that emerged was Junior Caleb Bowman, the brute could not be stopped near the goal line and completed the hat trick of 3 rushing touchdowns. Caleb carried the ball 9 times for 47 hard fought yards, and scored on 33% of his carries. Offense wasn’t the only contributing factor to the Fullback’s game, as he had 9 tackles, and 5 of them being unassisted. Caleb’s performance was honored by Farm Bureau, as he earned the Farm Bureau Insurance Player of the Game.
