It’s time for Basketball season! This year’s season is starting a little later in the year than usual due to the Coronavirus. Now with Covid-19, our parents cannot come into the gym to watch our practices. This year we all have to bring our own basketballs, when usually we would use the coach’s equipment. At our games, each team is allowed to bring 40 fans. Each player’s family gets a certain amount of tickets. It depends on how many players there are on a team for how many tickets the players get.   

This year there are three basketball teams, two of them are girls. The other is the boys. Below are the three teams, Lady Jackets 1, Lady Jackets 2, and Yellowjackets. 

Lady Jackets 1- Coach Jared Standridge, Coach Chad Brown

Players:  Anna Barnard, Gracie Brown, Chloe Hudson, Finley Newland, Rorie Newland, Lilly Pike, Julianna Prince, and Shelby Standridge.

Lady Jackets 2– Coach Tom Henderson, Coach Tony Hoyle, Coach Brandi Goodchild

Players:  Addison Balentine, Eva Barnes, Megan Goodchild, Emmah Henderson, Peyton Hoyle, Sariya Jackson, and Hailey Ward

Yellowjackets– Coach Kyle Hensley, Coach Jason McNabb

Players:  Jonah Hayes, Hester Hensley, Hayden Jones, Jeremiah Martell, Logan Mayo, Harold McNabb, Keegan Rose, Jacob Warren, Luke Westfall, Cole Wherry, and Braiden Venaball

Both Lady Jackets’ first game of the season was November 14, against  Conway Christian. The Yellowjackets didn’t play this weekend because the Eagles do not have a 6th grade boys basketball team.  The first picture is of  Lady Jackets 1 and picture 2 is of the team Lady Jackets 2.
