Softball and Baseball Seasons Wrap Up
May 26, 2017
The Clinton Yellowjackets Softball and Baseball team recently finished their 2017 season. The softball girl’s season was up and down most regular season, but they pulled it together strongly when post season came around. They won District and Regional championships leading up to state and really peaked at a great time. Going into state they were #1 seed coming off a Regional Championship. Glen Rose was their competitor. A final score of 16-2 ended the Lady Yellowjackets season, but what they accomplished this year is extraordinary. The boys sat in the driver seat almost all of their regular season games. A 16 game win streak and a district championship showed for it as well. During regionals they hit a bump in the road and came out 4th. Since they came in as the #4 seed in state they were matched up with Harding Academy first round. Errors and slow plate appearances really hurt the Yellowjackets as they lost 10-1. With 25+ wins for the boys their season wasn’t an absolute bust, and only losing 2 seniors it’s looking very promising next year as well. Congratulations to both teams on a great season!
