Esteban Saavedra is a Junior at Clinton High School. He has become a well-known student around campus for the short amount of time he has been in Clinton. Esteban enrolled around a year ago after arriving from Mexico with little English. People might think Esteban would have some difficulties at school with the lack of English and knowledge of our school system, but they clearly do not know Esteban.  The trials did not stop Esteban from succeeding in school. He has worked his way to being an incredibly smart and well liked student at Clinton High School.

Esteban is a well rounded student, in that he stands out in many different ways. For one, he is highly involved in school and yet maintains a 4.0 GPA. He is in a variety of clubs such as Beta and East. He also has an amazing talent in art. His talent has shown in many instances whether it’s in class, a contest, or even when it comes to helping his classmates. Esteban is always willing to help his classmates in any way he can. He has gained the love of his peers with his kind and humble personality. Esteban actively competes with his artistic talent. He has won many awards throughout the year. He won first place with six of his drawings in our local county fair this year. Overall, he received Best in Show. CHS also recently held a class banner contest during homecoming week. With Esteban’s input and help, his class was able to design the winning banner!

We are proud to have a determined student like Esteban at CHS. He has become a role model to other students. He has not let his obstacles get in the way of pursuing his goals at  CHS.
