CHS Football Takes Down Green Forest

Clinton Yellowjackets cruised to another win over Green Forest 42-14 last Friday scoring all of their point in the first half, putting the Tigers away early. Total time of possession of Clinton’s first two drives equaled 48 seconds and four plays, first starting with a Jake Ferrell 32 yard touchdown run and the second a Wyatt McCoy 18 yard touchdown run. Johnathan Ochoa scored an extra point after each to put Clinton up 14 to nothing. Clinton had big defensive stops on all three of the Tigers offensive possessions putting the ball right back in Kort Weaver’s hands, grinding out two big first downs. The drive capped off by a Sky Davidson touchdown run and an Ochoa extra point, ending the first quarter 21-0 Clinton. Clinton’s first drive of the second quarter was stalled by an interception, but the defense got a stop and gave the ball back to the offense and Charlie Sowell burst through for a 38 yard touchdown run and Clinton went up 27 to 0. The next Tiger drive was shut down by a Nate Lonnon interception taken to the house for 6 points and a Kort Weaver to Sky Davidson 2-pt conversion to put the Jackets up 35-0. Two more plays into the next Tiger possession, Sky Davidson comes up big with a fumble recovery that was capitalized on a Bradley Amos 27 yard uncontested touchdown run and a Johnathan Ochoa extra point to put the Jackets up 42-0 going into locker room at the half. The Yellowjacket coaching staff took the opportunity to put some of the younger Jackets into the game and get some playing time. They played until the clock ran out, winning 42-14. The Jackets want to thank all the fans that came out to support them again this Friday night and hope to see them in the stands next week against Melbourne.
