CHS Football Dominates Greenland Pirates
Friday night, the Clinton Yellowjackets traveled to Greenland, Arkansas, a nearly 3 hour trip, to take on the previous conference champions, the Greenland Pirates. The Yellowjackets dominated their opponent winning 45-0. Clinton’s offense did nothing short of show out last Friday night with a total of 501 yards (305 rushing, 196 passing) and touchdowns from Bradley Amos, Dalton Hoyle, and a Kort Weaver to Charlie Sowell pass connection. Wyatt McCoy made two touchdowns this game, along with Jonathan Carter scoring for the Yellowjackets and a Kort Weaver to Bryce Brawner pass connection which led our team to victory over the Greenland Pirates. Weaver threw 9 passes, 7 of which were caught, adding up to 196 yards total. He scored two touchdowns and ran for 56 yards on the ground on 6 carries. While on the other side of the ball, Clinton’s defense went lights out all night with their second shutout of the year. Coach Hudson and the Clinton Defense getting FAB&T Player of the Game as a whole. The energy of the Yellowjackets was completely ecstatic from the field, to the sidelines, and to the stands. Clinton showed who they are and what they are capable of and how they expect to play in conference this year. The football players want to thank all the fans, cheerleaders, and everyone else who came out to support them last Friday. The team plans on taking the energy and moving forward through their conference as number one this year. Go Jackets!
