The Clinton Yellowjacket’s track squad set a record this past week, they took a stunning number of 30 kids to the state meet in Prescott. They didn’t  just go though, they shined. The boys 4x100m team led by seniors Kort Weaver and Bradley Amos with juniors Avery Bramlett and Bryce Dodd brought home the gold medal as often said in the Olympics, and are now state champions. Senior Allie Hensley not only won one event, but three. As she won the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and long jump. These accomplishments earned her the 3A high point against the best competition in the state. Other members of the track team that placed are the girls 4×4 relay team placing 5th in the state those members were Summer Davidson, Lexi Smith, Leslie Carter, and Allie Hensley. Bradley Amos placed 3rd in the long jump competition, and junior Bryce Dodd reigned in second in the 200m dash. The boys 4×800 team coasted to a sixth place finish the four members of that team were Ethan Drake, Austin Drake, Derek Russell, and Blake Burgess. Finally Dylan Hayford, Weston Amos, Ethen Drake, and Austin drake finished 5th in the state in the 4×4. All the members of the CHS Jacket Journal would like to congratulate all members of the track team that competed in the state meet, and applaud them for always making the correct left turn.
